Violence against Women by Addicted Husbands in Iraq

Objective: Despite that women are becoming active participants and protagonists of the development social, economic, political process, they still suffer from distress violence, this problem spread worldwide. Domestic violence against is studied in general population, but with addicted spouses was little highlighted especially Iraq, study aimed to reveal rate clarify different types wives husbands.
 Methods: This comparative carried Ibn Rushud psychiatric training hospital Baghdad, Iraq has been done during time extended from10th April 20thof December 2020, conducted on 400 married women,200 them were husbands, and200were no husband. The inclusion criteria living her husband, those who voluntarily gave consent included. Divorced widows pregnant excluded. questionnaire used valid reliable appropriate our society's culture furthermore it a similar neighboring country. Data analysis performed using SPSS. Descriptive statistics chi-square, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal–Wallis tests, odds ratio (OR), Kendall's correlation coefficient analyze data. overall mean score 70.47 ± 14.32 for husbands 42.01 7.50 non-addicted (P < 0.001). psychological 40.03 5.03 23.40 4.26 Furthermore, physical 23.71 6.24 15.50 ±3.76 Moreover, scores sexual 3.21 2.11 2.92 0.25 without spouses, respectively Finally, financial 2.10±0.94and 1.10 0.23 an (P<0.001).
 Result: finding confirms conclusion other studies reveals significantly higher among if spouse abused more than one type substance.
